As the Nursery Room Leader will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the room and ensuring high standards of care and learning are maintained.

The Nursery Room Leader will have an overview of each child’s learning and development ensuring that your team are supporting their children in a way which positively promotes their development and learning. The Nursery Room Leader will ensure that planning for children and the recording of children’s progression towards the early learning goals is of a high standard which promotes the children learning, development and independence and school readiness.

The Nursery Room Leader will play a pivotal role in supporting the management team. Delivering a curriculum that is reflective of the nursery’s desire and drive to support children to achieving the very best they can.The nursery is a family run business and there are plans for expansion with the addition of further settings in the near future meaning there will be clear opportunities for career progression.

Location: Sydenham

Salary: £21,000-£22,000

Responsibilities and duties​

  • Key person to a group of children
  • Ensure children are kept safe
  • Ensure the smooth running of the preschool room
  • Ensure planning is of a high quality
  • Ensure planning meets the requirements of the EYFS
  • Ensure the smooth running of the room
  • Attend internal and external training
  • Liaise with external professionals 

Qualifications and skills

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Safeguarding young children
  • An understanding of the EYFS
  • The ability to promote children’s learning, care and independence

Enhanced DBS and background checks will be conducted
