Nursery Manager, South East London

An experienced Nursery Manager is sought for a day nursery in Catford, South East London. The setting has been renovated to a very high standard resulting in a modern, welcoming high quality environment which is further enhanced by the extensive high-quality learning resources and equipment.

The ideal Nursery Manager will be a strong and inspirational leader who is able lead a staff team of 23 practitioners caring for 69 children aged from 3 months to 5 years. The nursery recognises the contribution the Nursery Manager makes to the setting and valuing their efforts and rewards them accordingly. The setting supports its team fully and is committed to promoting the well-being of the whole team. The nursery works towards staffing over and above the legal ratio requirements of staff to children in each room.

The Nursery Manager will have a proven track record required to confidently lead the nursery team and work alongside the supportive directors. The Manager will have the ability and knowledge to recognise and promote the delivery of high quality care and learning within the setting.

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 Negotiable

Responsibilities and duties​

  • Ensure a smooth day to day running of the nursery
  • Mentor and coach the staff team
  • Be a positive role for the staff team
  • Develop a non-blame culture
  • Carry out effective appraisals
  • Manage nursery budgets
  • Lead monthly staff meetings and training 

Qualifications and skills

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent
  • 2 year’s management experience
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
  • Understanding of the planning cycle
  • Lead by example and be reflective
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures

Enhanced DBS and background checks will be conducted
